And a "Good Friday" it was!!

Friday before last (aka, Good Friday, haha) McKenley's Mimi, Aunt Rachel, and Aunt Katy, and I loaded up and headed to Fort Worth for the little princess's first trip to the zoo!! She has started to take such interest in animals of all different kinds, we thought it couldn't be better timing. It was a bit on the crowded side because all the schools had out for Good Friday, but since its such a big zoo, the crowds weren't that bad.

McKenley had THE BEST time!!!! She couldn't stop staring at all the animals. She would point and point and make the only animal noise she knows, "ruff! ruff!" -- and no, they weren't all dogs, haha.

 On to more fun in the African Safari!!

 We were actually in front of the lion exhibit when he started roaring!! In all my years of visiting the zoo, this was the FIRST time I'd ever seen the lion roar!

McKenley was SPEECHLESS!!

 She loved the penguins!! I think they reminded her of watching Happy Feet! haha

 FISHEES!!! She loved all the bright colors, Casey says now we need an aquarium, haha!

 Last stop... Flamingos!!! And boy were they entertaining!! They were making so much noise and we even saw some of them fighting!!

Thanks Mimi for taking us to the zoo!! Can't wait to go again :)

And can you believe, that was only the FIRST part of our day!!  As we left the zoo, our little adventurer didn't even make it out of the parking lot before she passed out!! We headed back to Mimi's house and decided to take our adventures to Southlake Town Square for some shopping! Of course McKenley got a treat from her Mimi, she said it was a "pre-Easter gift" an adorable stuffed chick that baby LOVES!! Aunt Rachel got a dress for graduation and we had a great afternoon walking around and enjoying the weather!!

Finally, we were off to dinner! It wasn't the smoothest experience, but all in all, McKenley LOVED the Mexican food (like her mommy), the company, and most of all the live band!! She danced the whole way through dinner.

I have to say that I am so happy that I have such a trooper for a daughter. She was in great spirits all day, no matter where we took her! We were EXHAUSTED by the time we finally got home! But we sure did have a "Good Friday"!!! :)

New Cities, New Experiences, and New Toys!!

McKenley is constantly learning about new things, seeing new people, and finding out about her changing surroundings!!

Last week we headed to Austin to see Aunt Katy graduate!! I will post more pics from our trip soon! McKenley was SUCH a good girl on her first road trip :)

This week I went to Target to get McKenley a Bumbo chair. She's not completely ready for it, but they're just so darn cute that I couldn't help myself!!  I put her in it just to see how she would handle it and OMG!!! it was probably the cutest darn thing that I had ever seen! How can someone look so little and yet like such a big girl all at the same time!!

She was so mesmerized by all of her surroundings, I think she was confused by seeing everything from this new perspective! I couldn't even get her to smile (which has become quite easy these days!) because she was concentrating on everything so hard!

Then I turned on the Baby Einstein DVD! WOW!! I didn't hear a peep from her for the entire 28 minutes! She loved all the bright colors and the fun noises, it was hysterical!!

"Don't bother me while my movie is on Mom!!"

Friday we went to our weekly Mom & Me meeting and had a BLAST!! McKenley loves looking at all the other babies, but we REALLY missed our friends Lezlee and Sophia! McKenley can't wait for Sophia's mommy to be done with school so they can play again :) At this week's meeting we learned about a Mom & Me swim class in the area and CAN'T WAIT to get signed up (more on this hopefully very soon!)

All in all, McKenley is getting bigger and bigger each day and starting to develop quite a goofy little personality!

Wordless Wednesday #2

Happy Graduation Aunt Katy!!

Lately...

Can't believe it's been so long since I have posted about how things are going for baby and me! :/

Well, needless to say, Ms. McKenley has been a busy little baby lately!!

Last Friday, Mimi, Aunt Katy, McKenley and I met for lunch on the square in downtown McKinney (oh! and Melissa joined us!!) and ate at YUMMY Spoons. Then, Mimi, McKenley, and I strolled around the square and enjoyed the AMAZING weather!! We stumbled upon an ADORABLE baby/kid clothing store and good thing they had very little in the way of infant clothing, it could have been detrimental for the bank account. I did end up getting a precious head band with a flower!! I used it in her pics on Sunday!! SEE BELOW!!

Then the next day, Daddy got a new car! McKenley is very excited about driving around in his new ride.

Sunday, McKenley participated in her second photo shoot! Erin brought over some fantastic props and McKenley cooperated amazingly. Check out some of my favorite pics below:

 And then after being such an angel in the pictures, things have been kinda rough for my princess :( She is having some tummy issues that are making it very hard for her (and therefore mommy) to get any sleep.  We visited the doctor and she gave us some ideas to help make her more comfortable. Daddy and I have done everything we can to help our baby out and things seem to be getting a bit better.

Yesterday we went to Target to get her VERY FIRST Easter dress!! I cannot wait to get her all dolled up in her fancy new dress and take her to enjoy her first holiday with the family.  She is going to LOVE GiGi's house and meeting all of her amazing aunts, uncles, and cousins. To top it off she is also looking forward to meeting Aunt Stephanie and Hunter!! Now, lets just hope the long day away from home goes smoothly... should be interesting getting everything packed up, heading out to Colleyville and spending the day there... maybe we should all start praying now for patience :) haha
