This week we made some big steps in McKenley's room! If she were to come tomorrow, she would atleast have some FABULOUS clothes, a beautiful place to sleep, and a place to have her diaper changed!! :) Her room is coming together amazingly and the only thing that could make it better is... HER!!
Casey and I put the bed together on one of our MANY snow days. It is EXACTLY how I imagined it would look! It totally came together when we put the bedding afterwards :)
Then this weekend I put together the changing table. I was surprised at how easy it was! :) Now we have a place to put the teeny-weeny diapers we have started compiling!
Our next additions to her room are some fancy blinds and new baseboards. After that it's just fun decoration time!!
Now for an update on the little lady herself!
This week McKenley has changed in the following ways:
Weight: about 3.75 pounds, evidently the size of a large jicama, whatever that is!
Length: about 16.7 inches long
She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
How I have been changing:
GOOD NEWS!! I'll be gaining about a pound a week!! OMG!!! Roughly half of that goes right to McKenley. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. I am really unsure how I am supposed to continue to gain weight! Today I hit the proverbial wall, it feels like I have a 50 lb weight attached to my belly... and I STILL have 7 more week!! YIKES!! Can I hire someone to just walk around with me and hold up my belly??
Thats all I got for tonight! Stay tuned to hear how Casey's experience goes at Daddy Bootcamp! Oooohhhh to be a fly on the wall of that class. Can't wait to hear all the fun things he learns about!

9!!!
WOW!!! Casey and I were able to get lots of things checked off our list this past weekend!!
For starters, thanks to the hard work of the hubs and step-dad, McKenley's room now has beautiful hardwood floors!
I must say, I was in COMPLETE shock when I walked through the door. It is exactly how I pictured it in my mind! The guys worked so hard, and I am soooo happy with it. The baseboards fell victim to the flooring though, so we will be working to replace those this week hopefully :)
While the boys were working hard with the flooring, my mom and I spent our day completing my registry!! We had SUCH a blast... but it was sooo hard!! There are so many options out there! Do I want this swing or that swing and what is even the difference?!? Which pattern of fabric do I want? Something neutral that could be used for a boy in the future or just go completely girly? Do I want a bouncer or a swing or both? Which kind of pacifier do I register for? OMG! It was a bit overwhelming to say the least. Thank goodness I have some new mommy friends that were able to guide us in the right direction! It is officially complete though, so please feel free to start purchasing gifts for Ms. McKenley at Babysrus and Target! haha :)
Last night I hit 31 weeks! Here are some pics of McKenley and me at her first official Super Bowl party at my mom's house.
This week McKenley has changed in the following ways:
Weight: about 3.3 pounds (think 4 navel oranges) and is apparently heading into a growth spurt, oh joy!
Length: measures over 16 inches long.
She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin.
I visited the doctor today and her heartbeat was about 136 bmp, though it took FOREVER to get this reading because she LOVES to "run and hide" from the heart rate monitor! I hope this is not a sign of stubbornness to come when she arrives!
Stay tuned, our next project is to get her furniture built and the baseboards put back on!! PICTURES TO COME SOON... hopefully! :)

Let the countdown begin... 10...
Yes, that's right folks, Casey and I have less than 10 weeks until baby McKenley makes her way into our world!! I am still in shock that this time has gone by soooo fast, but we cannot wait until she is here!
This week McKenley has changed in the following ways:
Weight: approximately 3 pounds
Length: approximately 15.7 inches long.... WOW!!!
She now is growing eyelashes, her eyesight is developing, and her skeleton is hardening.
How I am changing:
Cravings: uhhhhh.... EVERYTHING! :) I have decided the grocery store is NOT my friend in these next few weeks. I bought the most random things this week while there... needless to say, Casey is enjoying it!
Movement: SHE NEVER RESTS!! haha! I have been drinking a lot of cranberry juice lately (not sure why), and she seems to be bouncing after a glass of it!
Symptoms: Starting to feel a bit more tired again and the uncomfortableness is starting to set in. After spending 4 1/2 hours at the NFL Experience, I definitely NO LONGER had ankles! haha, it was a bit disturbing. Luckily, after a few hours of my feet elevated, they returned to their normal state :)
Saturday is the big hardwood day and I couldn't be more excited!! This is the last big thing that needs to be done in her room to get it done. The rest is small things that I can actually do! :) Casey and David have decided to take this "little" project on.... should be interesting :) and pictures will DEFINITELY be coming!! While the boys work on flooring, my mom and I will be completing the registry!!! I can't wait to find all the great things for McKenley to enjoy!!
For all the complainers out there, I will post another pic soon!!
