Baby's Gettin So Big!! :(

It was about the time of this picture...

that I quickly realized that the little princess was getting a bit too big and strong for her swaddles. She works through her whole nap to bust her hands out and as soon as she does, she wakes herself up! I have NO idea how she does it, these things are supposed to be breakout proof!! But she is anything if not determined and set in her ways (I think we learned that at her 5 week early arrival!!).

Sooooo, we have been working the last 2 weeks at weaning her off the swaddle and let me tell you, it has been interesting!! haha We started with just one hand out, she consistently busts out her left hand, so I figured we start there...

Don't you just LOVE how she places her hand so delicately on her chest! haha, it just cracks me up every time!

I think she has just about mastered the one hand out, so the next step is to see how she does with both hands out. The left one still tends to flail about a bit, but it doesn't seem to wake her up any more.

I'll post an update after we work on 2 hands out, wish us luck!!!

Our first Fathers Day!!

Well today we were blessed to spend time with the most amazing men in the world!! McKenley is so blessed to be surrounded by such strong male influences. Man! Her future boyfriends are in for a treat!! :)

We started our day by surprising Dad with her awesome outfit! Casey saw this phrase on a onesie online when I was pregnant and LOVED it! So, I asked my go-to embroider Candy (look up Sew Many Ties and More on Facebook if you need anything embroidered or a fun gift for someone!!!) to create her official Fathers Day outfit!

Then we headed off to my Papa's house in Argyle. She was so happy to spend time with Grandma & Papa, her Great Aunts and Uncles, her aunts, and most of all her Pops!

Just 2 more examples of men that this 3 month old already has eating out of the palm of her hand!! We're in trouble with these softys!!

We finished off our Father's Day festivities by having a yummy dinner here at the house with Grandma Kim and Grandpa Jim. I cooked baby back ribs for the very first time in the crockpot and MAN they were a hit!! 

McKenley was sure glad she got to end her day with her Grandpa Jim!!

What a fun day it was!! McKenley and I are so thankful for all the men that help us everyday! We know that we will forever be taken care of!! :) We love you guys!!

Wordless Wednesday #3

The first of MANY playdates with Sophia!!

Three Months old!!

This past Friday we celebrated 3 amazing months with our baby girl! I still can't believe that we are so blessed to have such a happy and healthy baby. We are so thankful for all the joy this little bundle has brought us!!

Things McKenley has accomplished this month:

• She is getting so much better at holding her head up, almost has complete control!!!
• LOVES her Bumbo chair!!
• Has rolled over to her side, but still can't quite manage to get to her back
• Made her first trip to the lake 
• Likes to stand up! Her legs are soooo strong!
• She is starting to talk to us.... VERY softly, she hasn't learned yet that she has a volume (I hear this is a blessing!). It is probably the cutest thing ever!! I have been trying to get it on video, but every time I pull out the camera, she goes silent! RRRRRRRRRRRR

Speed bumps that we have encountered this month:

• We've been dealing with some serious skin irritation lately. We went to the doctor today and it is in fact eczema.  The doctor told us to use some Hydrocortizone and it should clear up in no time!
• The little booger is still not taking all her bottles completely! But, after getting her weight today, looks like we have nothing to worry about, shes packing on the pounds just fine!! :)
• Ya... thats about it, shes pretty much an amazing baby! :)

Stats this month:

• Don't have exacts because it wasn't an official "well" visit to the doctor. But, she is up to 11 lbs 10 oz. and 22 inches long!! Such a growing girl! :)

Can't wait to see what our little girl can do in the next month!

Happy Memorial Day!!

 Monday was McKenley's first trip out to the lake and boy did she LOVE it!!! Okay, so maybe I couldn't really tell if she loved it, but she sure did look super cute, and really... that's all that matters :)

Outfit #1!

My mom made this super cute romper especially for lake days!! It has a fantastic hat that goes with it, but her head just isn't big enough yet!

Then we made our way outside and set up camp! It was SUPER windy, so we didn't even bother setting up the baby pool. So instead, McKenley opted to just chill under the tent her daddy set up for her!

 At this point, McKenley had just about too much fun and it was time for a nap, soooo Cousin Blake made sure her things did not go unused during this time!!

After nap time, it was time for an outfit change!! I did not matter to us in the slightest that she couldn't get into her pool, I was DEAD SET on seeing her in a bathing suit for the first time!!

WE LOVE GIGI!!!

Can't wait until she can get into the water with this on!!

All in all, it was a very fun trip to the lake! We can't wait until she gets bigger and can play in the lake with us!!
